Secondly and you can tell i know little, on the RS 185 as in my RS 195 there is a digital Optical plugin possibility, also analog and the little toggle switch, what does that do?

That's the audio input selection switch, for digital or analog audio input selection if you've already hooked up your RS 185 to the two different setups. Push the switch up for digital and down for analog.

I have the RS 195.  I'm connected to my pc by a jack. Do i need to use the toogle switch? Would optical to my wifi be a better sound? Thanks

You'll need to push the switch down for analog. And yes, we recommend that you connect your RS 195 directly to your hifi(?) using the digital connection. If you do this, please remember to push the toggle up for digital.

erm so your connecting the 185 to the optical on your computer?

you want idealy optical from the computer to the 185, your "wifi" should in no way have anything to do with it by which i presume you mean your router.

Its RS195 and I amconnected to the pc by the headphone jack. Would an optical connection be betterand how do I do that?
Thank You

You need to check that you have digital outputs (optical) on your PC first. Only then can you connect your PC to the RS 195 using the included optical digital cable.

well.......odds are yes.

using the analoge outputs (the 3.5mm jacks) are going to be bound by the quality of the DAC's and omping on your mobo, which are likely to be rubbish.  Using the Optical to the 185 would mean that they are fed a pure digital signal and then the likely much better quality DAC in the 185 is used.

you do it buy buying an optical cable, i suggest ebay, just so long as you dont buy the super thin and thiseasily broken cables any will do, dont buy one thats expensive as it adds nothing.  your mobo will have a spdif connector onitid bet, justlike on the back of the 185 base unit.

Mark, Thanks I  really do appreciate your help.
Motherboard is :
Gigabyte Technology Co. LTD.  B75M-D2V  Intel Core i3  3240 CPU  @3.40GHz
I didn't see anywhere on the back of my desktop pc so I ordered this :
It's now $30 and I got it at $28, while Amazon is $40 :
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Hot-sale-EU-Plug-New-5-1-2-1-Channel-Stereo-AC3-DTS-Digital-Optical-Audio/32577136566.html
I'm hoping that i an hook up optical that way.
I would appreciate your input and thank you in advance, it's uncommon.

@AtrafCreez The technical description of that piece of equipment says the SPDIF ports are input and is advertised as providing "5.1 analog audio output".  I might be wrong, but I don't think it will do what you're hoping (actually the opposite) and, even if it could, 'converting' analog to digital will not provide you with the clarity/improvement of a digital signal directly from the source.

The only way to do what you want (and have any tangible improvement) would be to buy another motherboard, unfortunately.

hey like @Hammy says i think thas not the right thing.

but your right your mobo didnt have optical out, which is unusual.  anyway so i rummaged in the mind and recalled that firestone audio do what your after.  now im sure that there will be others that make similar and potentialy cheaper.

however you could also just get a cheap internal sound card which would give you an optical out like https://www.asus.com/Sound-Cards/Xonar_DGX/

I had bought a year ago before buying wireless the external Asus Xonar sound card which after reinstalling Windows 7 did not work anymore and thousands of people claim the same.
ASUS are ASS us on support. Zero, nada, zilch.
Maybe  getting a reciever will help?  I have stereo speakers with an internal amp but only use headphones. Will buying a receiver do the job?
Thanks. I live in Israel and all electronics cost 117% more than  the USA or European prices since its  mostly taxes, shipping and Import Tax plus V.A.T.
Thanks
