Hi,

I'm thinking about getting my wife the cordless SENNHEISER RS120 headphones.

She has been using my Dennon 1001 (we love the sound of these) for watching TV late at night, and with the extension cord reached across the bedroom floor/bed I'm always worried she is going to rip the cord out. I did think about getting another extension cord to make it longer overall so it could run around the edge of the bed out of the way.

I though maybe a set of cordless headphones could be good for her to watch tv late at night, and to wear so she can listen to music while running around the house to do house work, rather than cranking up the home system.

Are the RS120 are good headphone for music; or are we better off getting a decent quality extension cord for the tv and get her a portable mp3 player?

Thanks,

Kev

I wasn't very impressed with either of Sennheiser's wireless headphones I had a chance to audition three wireless headphones at work (Two Sennheisers and one Acoustic Research) and I actually preferred the AR headphones to the Sennheisers... However I only had a short time with all three!

Glad to hear you two share the love of head-fi, but I honestly think you'd be better off with an extension cable. For just watching the TV, they might not be bad, but for music, I've heard better for half the price (wired, mind you). I haven't had a chance to hear any Denons, but I'd bet the sound signature would be quite a change. I know the D1001s are easily driven, so a DAP might not be a bad idea!

I owned the top Sennheiser cordless--140--and it was awful. If you really must have cordless, you'd be better off with AKG.

They're okay. Use them for TV watching, not critical listening. They're clear and don't really suffer from interference, but they don't sound spectacular.

They are more than adequate for TV, music is another story and no wireless will sound as good as a wired setup. I have tried only the Senns for wireless though but I use and like them for bedroom TV listening. A "better" extension cord is a waste of time and $ IMO.

I have been thinking, not too sure about the choice now as they are open cans, so they could still be a bit noisey for me to sleep. I think I may try a longer extension for now, donate the Dennons to her; and and save up for a set of better headphones for myself.

Thanks for all the feedback.
