Just received my Sennheiser PX-100 today. Have been using it with my IPod mini. The comination is just heavenly. I think I like this combo better than the ER-4S with the IPod.

With the ER-4S you have to insert it deep into your ears, which isn't all that convenient all the time. With the PX-100 you just pop the headphone on. Plus, the PX-100 has better bass than the ER-4S.

I think I found my new portable setup.

The PX100 and iPods of all makes and models seem to have a synergy. The Mini I had skipped and sputtered and did all sorts of weird things during the 48 hours I had one. Have 2 full size 3rd gen iPods and one Shuffle. Both full size pods now skip when walking, they did not initially. SS memory like the Shuffle and NANO is the way to go but they all sound great with the PX100's when they work. Try the JAZZ EQ setting.

Heh, if you think they sound good now, you're in for a real treat.......It took my PX 100/Mini combo about 170 hours before I could put on a happy face and it keeps getting better somehow.

I got my PX 100's a few days ago, & thought they sounded great right out of the package. The case is a stroke of genius, these are gonna be the perfect companion to my tiny Sony SRF-S83 radio. FM stereo never sounded so good!

When I bought my PX100's I thought for the money they sounded great to my ears, they sounded quite warm to my ears which I like so it's cool. They're really convenient if I'm just playing a game or something because they're so quick and easy to take off and put on obviously, it's weird but sometimes if I'm getting up all the time it's a pain to keep removing and reinserting the ER6's.

They're only good for home use for me because I want to listen say on the bus etc. without hearing screaming children or other conversations

So I have ER6's for that. But otherwise they're really nice for the money.

The PX100's were my first set of headphones that replaced the stock iBuds in my 3G iPod....I liked them enough to buy two sets.

I do use an amp and line-out now and the PX100's bass is just too much to bear, it's too mid-bass heavy, I definitely prefer using my IEM's like my ER6/ER4 but with an iPod and its rolled off bass below 50Hz, the PX100 works fine.

This is a good example of how different types of gear fits different circumstances and different listening conditions. I have the ER6 and love the sound signature but I rarely use them unless I'm in a noisy environment, which is when they excel.
I like the KSC75/35 when running straight out of the Karma. But the PX100 seem to really come to life with an amp. While the PX100 IMO has some shortcomings in its sound signature it is still a very enjoyable headphone to go to from time to time and tops in comfort and build.

Hmmm, this is a another great reason to have multiple sets of cans. Another way to justify the insanity of every new order.

I've got the PX100 and Ipod combo and it definitely does sound great. But to comment on the skipping and pausing some people have mentioned, in case they haven't heard this elsewhere: the metal ring around the headphone jack will sometimes short the Ipod case to audio ground, making the Ipod think you've unplugged the headphones and enabling autopause. Try poking the plug through a small piece of plastic wrap and then plugging it into the Ipod and see if the problem goes away.
