I'm wondering which of these will be better for my tastes.

Budget: about $200

Source: desktop pc, laptop, samsung s7

Preferred tonal balance: looking for a decent all-rounder with a full-sounding but not overpowering bass.

Preferred music:  Power and orchestral metal.  Also acoustic and folk music.

Past headphones: Vmoda m80s. I'm no audiophile and these were my first headphones over 20 dollars, but I thought these were pretty good at just about everything.  I loved how rich and full everything sounded.  However they were very uncomfortable for extended time periods.  They made my ears hot and sweaty and hurt my ears because I wear glasses.

What I would change: Looking for something all around more detailed and immsersive than the m80s and definitely more comfortable.

Will I be wearing these in public?  Yes.  I frequently work and game in public locations. So I need something with decent isolation and that doesn't look awkward so I don't me stick out like a sore thumb.

Given this information, which do you think I should go for, the Momentum 2.0 or the Vmoda m100s?

I wear glasses, have a big head and use Vmoda XS a lot, I think they're very comfortable and light. M100 was too bassy for me.

Coming from a fellow Metalhead!

One thing I have learnt from my many headphones and setups, is too much bass ruins the track (imo)!

For me, out of those two, I would go for the Momentum 2.0 or the V-Moda XS like mentioned above.

The V-Moda M-100 are just too bassy for me, and in my opinion too bassy for Metal! :)

Thank you so much!  Since posting this, I've been reading a lot of reviews for the momentum and was starting to lean in that direction.  Thanks for the confirmation!  Always nice to meet another metalhead as well.
