I am posting to get some clarification. I just picked up a pair of Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 wireless at Best Buy at a great price (price matched Amazon at $185). The box clearly states that these cans are the Momentum 2.0 and NOT the HD1; there is also no HD1 logo on the headphones themselves. In looking online, I understand that Sennheiser rebranded the Momentum 2.0s to HD1 a couple of years ago due to concern of copyright infringement.
I am confused, though, because Sennheiser is still using the Momentum branding on their True Wireless earphones along with their newly released Momentum 3.0s.
The original box UPC makes no mention of a rev01 or rev02. When I search for HD1s on online stores, most of the sites are saying they have been discontinued by the manufacture.
I understand the ONLY difference between the HD1s and Momentum 2.0s is the headband, with the sound signature being the same.
Is Sennheiser now able to use the Momentum branding again?
Any idea to tell what model of Momentums I have?
Thanks for your time and help.
