Compared to the Xelento and IER Z1R, I wouldn't have kept the IE900 before at least 3 months. When, I finally could find the best tips for my ears, some proper cables without microphonic noise and even the proper position inside my ear => they became my favorites IEMs by a big margin of these last 3 years.
Such a story also happened with other stuff these last 10 years.. so, I almost never try anything less than 3 months (same with DSLR,ML lenses) and I never sell my items within 4 or 5 months or even more.
My search stops when I have found the stuff which seems to be perfect for my use, so I can use some amp, speakers for decades now, after having tried many around the 80's.
Yours is definitely the right way to do it!

The fit of the IE900 is excellent, I often struggle with my right ear to get a good secure fit but so far these fit really snug with no movement and a good seal.
Using the stock medium tips (silicone)

Hi everyone I shared before my favorite tip mod which was flipping final e tips, and then I flipped starline tips, it was a big surprise. It offers an amazing bass with better focus on mids and does not affect the highs as flipping the final e tips. This is the tip of my choice that is seriously an upgrade in sound using any other tip period

Has someone compared these with the Xelento?

I still own both .. but for a few months now, after I could find some proper tips and microphonic noise free cable => the IE 900 became my favorite and most used IEM, but both need some parametric EQ to get their best sound quality. I would say the Xelento is already a real great IEM and very comfortable, the IE900 is even a bit better (with clearer impacts in low frequencies, both are not as fast as IER-Z1R in low frequencies, but IER-Z1R is much more tricky to use with full comfort).

Thank you!

I asked because Xelento is currently at 650€ right now and IE 900 is still double of that. Xelento might be the Best buy if we put price in consideration.

600€ Amazon e 649 son-video
There's a ton written, basically ie900 is energetic, Xelento laid back, quite boring tuning really, get ie900 you'll never regret paying the money, its gonna be admired for long long time

I found the Audio Technica Solid Bass eartips. Decided to give it a try with the IE900. Fit is good and seals nicely. IE900 sits shallow with it because I put at position 1. Sound wise it’s great. Recommended to try!

Received my custom eartips for the IE900.

Nice!

I pinged ADV yesterday about those as it's been 3 weeks wait for me already... I picked mineral grey we'll see how it turns out.

How do you like the sound?
