Sennheiser IE80s vs. Utimate Ears UE900?

You prefer the Sennheiser signature over the others, I say stick with it. But I did hear of a Sennheiser ie800, maybe you should wait?

The IE800 is far from production. I tried getting a prototype set for my Vancouver meet and they simply said the prototype isn't ready yet. Also, I'm expecting the IE800 to be MUCH more costly than the IE80

Has the price even been announced yet..?

And here's some backup: http://www.geeky-gadgets.com/sennheiser-ie-800-in-ear-1000-headphones-launched-11-09-2012/

Along with this: http://alancross.squarespace.com/a-journal-of-musical-things/2012/9/12/1000-ear-buds-from-sennheiser.html

And here if you wish: http://www.slashgear.com/sennheiser-ie-800-earphones-hands-on-13222800/

It will cost 599 British Pounds though, perhaps the US price might become $787 (In this case 2 IE80s and $200 chump change)?

Not sure if you own the IE80s, but if you do, could do compare the UE900 and the IE80?

HHE i do have The IE80's.. as well as i have heard the UE900 for a bt a week,,,,  what my opinion is ie80 (after ISO-tape mode) is very transparent and has a lot of impact in the bass region without making u uncomfortable.. while i found that UE900 isn't half as comfy as listening to IE80's.. Ue900 lacks the punch of the IE80's.. as well as since ie80's focused on sub-bass region , ull feel that ground shaking buzz when a song goes that low( with no cost of details )     plus if u buy the ue900  u will stuck with a 1 signature , while if u buy the IE80 u'll have 3..     what i tell u is give a shot for the IE80's... worth it..

Ok, thanks. :) I will order the IE80s, but I will first send it to tinyman392 for some more comparisons, as well as if he wants to post it to help others. Thanks though :D

Well, since Black Friday is coming up, I'm probably going to choose from the Phonak Audeo PFE232s, Westone W4s, and of course the UE900s and the Sennheiser IE80s.

I will probably get the PFE232s if I can afford it, as they seem to be the best universals right now. Westone W4s and the UE900s seem to be of similar quality, although more people prefer the W4s. I am going to ask tinyman392 to compare the IE80s, which I will order soon.

In no way the PFE232 are the "best" universals right now. They may be one of the best, but certainly nowhere near the BEST title.

Quality-wise, the W4 is slightly ahead of the 900s.  The veil is what kills the 4s though, which the 900s don't have.  The 900s are a do nothing wrong type of deal, but still need to shine somewhere with a tad bit more refinement.  I see the W4s on the 232 level technically, but prefer the 232 as it's also less veiling.  The W4s, believe it or not do a better job with clarity and (slightly better job with) detailing despite its veil over the 232.  Between these two, it comes down to preference.  The 900s do the vocals just barely fine enough for me to use them day to day, although I prefer the 232 over them, as well as the W4 for vocals alone.  As a signature as a whole, I jump to the 900s though, despite them not being as technically sound.

Depend on the people's different taste of music and different ears, I suppose it's very hard to define 'the best'. But yes, one of the best. I dare say IE80 is the wise choice. Oh you mind take a look at Heir Audio 3Ai and 4Ai.
