Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

Just brought a pair of ie300 after my ie800 gave up the ghost, the ie300 aren't in the same league as the ie800, soundstage seems less to me and the top and bottom end doesn't seem as polished. Is there anything better today than the ie800.

That cable on the 300 / 900's is terrible ! Sent my 900's back and bought the Z1R'S

Wipes the floor with it, I've had / sold many iems but these are keepers. Some people do have problems with the fit though, I have swapped the cable for a 8 core silver graphene and using final e tips and it's excellent. Did look at the 300's as a set to travel with but thought the build quality looked a bit cheap.

Moving house so I'm currently going through drawers / cupboards etc forgot I had a pair of 800's that I bought in Germany when they were released years ago, cable has gone all hard and pulled off the tips which came away from the collar and when I tried pick off the clip the drivers came away too 🤣....... And they still work ok and sound great !
Looks like a detachable cable project , so moral of the story is, if you want to open them up to rewire just leave them in a drawer for 4 years 🤣.
