I bought IE800 a while ago. I love them, and checked all those fake tests, photo comparisons. I am quite convinced that these are legit, but would like to add few photos. Because I have concerns. :frowning2:

We are now arriving at the number 1 concern photo:

As you can see, the split between two parts of cable is quite small. I bought them used from a seller who bought them new from Amazon UK in 2017. Is it possible that during usage, for some reason 2.5 mm connector moved so the split kind of shrink? Two parts click when I connect them, and I can by applying small force slightly move apart two parts, and when then pushed together they produce silent-ish "click".

I compared your pictures to my genuine, bought new IE-800 and it looks identical. The split is there on the new unit.

I know, but split on my pair is quite tight. On other legit pair pictures it looks a bit wider. Also bear in mind that this is photo taken on natural sun light. In darker places, "in shadow", it seems even tighter than on this photo. :weary:

This is what mine looks like. It's like new because I have the 800S too and I listen more to those. I kinda never disconnect the 2.5mm connector.

(unit is clean - super zoomed in photo shows all specs :) )

Split on yours is definitely wider than on mine. Mine split is wide as yours when I just slightly remove two parts, right before 2.5 connector starts coming out. Thats why I hope that during usage by original owner, plastic around 2.5 connector or female side somehow displaced.

Also, reading your post carefully, I can add mine has only one healthy click upon connecting the two ends. There is no further "silent click" when pushing the two ends against each other.

But to me this is indicative of usage, not a fake unit. Everything else looks identical.

Mine too has only one "big" click. This very silent one is probably because I still pull slightly connector out and return it in.

By the way, my 800S (Sennheiser website bought) has a smaller split than my 800. It looks about as wide as what your 800 shows. I think that shows that the width of the split is not necessarily indicative of anything...
