check the serial number. i think it's the last 5 digits

I checked my box, it has "rev 1.0" to the side of the serial number and the last 5 of the s/n is 20k +

I wish a new revision with longer cables from split to pieces were made... it was rather not great wearing ie800 over the ear.

Seems that we have been flooded with fake ie800 as recent amazon reviews indicate.No one buy a $200-$400 ie800 and only get them from a reputable seller.

Mine 17XXX after 4 month usage, 3 inches under left unit hardened....
 
Anyone has serial no. beyond 2XXXX having no problem? I am reluctant to bring it to customer service if hardening problem still persists beyond 2XXXX since it took me many hours for burn in.

It is the known cable hardening problem among ie800, some said it usually happens to the left unit
 
Part of the cable hardened under the sound unit so that it can erect like a plant

I've had 2 pairs, out of four, with serial #s above 2xxxx. One hardened in a little over a month and was returned. My current one is 23xxx and hasn't hardened yet but I just don't use them as much because of the stiffening issue. I don't know if this 2xxxx + is just a myth or not.
