Good to hear you close there.
One reason I rarely use anymore is the fit. Once, I have my k10c then I mostly put in closet. Tried again this week and still frustrating with the fit.
    Plan to sell it.

I have a quick advice: You can contact some companies that do custom tips that work with ie800. They should be really nice and would solve all fit issues you might be experimenting.

I am actually getting a really good fit with ie800 using medium round tips and shallow insertion, but I clean them and my ears in between usages, otherwise the tips get squishy and the fit doesn't work so well...

I'm daily using my IE800 since almost three years now and can state that i never had an issue with the cable or others functional aspects.... just a lot of amazing listenings!
I'm looking forward for the new IE800S release too because want use the TRRS connection...... even if I'll keep this pair.
With Sennheiser you can't go wrong, a very trusted brand.

From the FR curve I've seen, the IE800S is going to be quite different. I'm sure there are going to be some that prefer the original IE800 sound.

......exactly what I was wondering myself!

Sennheiser rep sent it to me, but made me promise not to share it :frowning2:

They describe the new FR as "more linear". I would say it's more neutral. It's a more gentle rise to 10 kHz, without the bumps along the way.

I've not heard them yet, but from the graphs, it certainly looks like an improvement - at least for my ears.

Since you already shared with us that it's more neutral and they describe it as more linear, you might as well post the graph
