I know how you feel, although only just new to area im giving myself excuses to buy and not by a mojo. Im being pulled from both ends!

The Mojo is an excellent DAC/Amp. I put DAC first simply because I use it as my DAC for my Pro iCan and it has performed fantastically in that role. The Mojo's amp side also works well with the IE800's if you are planning on owning a pair. But I've been using the iDSD BL the most lately as I find it works with a larger variety of headphones. Not only my IE800's but every headphone I own.

You should also consider iDSD BL! Works like magic with ie800!

Woah, I heard that Pro iCAN is a real champ, wish I'll hear one someday!

Im only a new owner of the ie's. (3 weeks ish)? The reason i dont yet have a dac/amp is because i cannot decide wgich one to get. The ha2se and mojo are the ones on my radar. Would love an idsd bl. They are quick expensive though?

It's not a little amount. It's right at $400 for replacements.

You just missed an earlier sale on the iDSD BL today at Adorama. It was down to like $378 dollars or so. At that price it's a steal. Keep an eye out on their website or subscribe to the iDSD BL's thread and be informed of the next sale. I had the Oppo HA-2SE and sold it for the iDSD BL. The Oppo did play well with the IE800's from what I can recall.

378 US? Im from aus so slap on freight and ouch.

  9. Slim1970
Oh wow, you are right. Well, I hope you decide soon on an amp. The IE800's perform their best when amp'd up.

I can confirm the IE800 sounds excellent with the idsd BL; the combo is magical.

I found iDSD BL to be one of the best sources for ie800, at least give it a listen and take it into account before deciding. It will drive anything under the sun as long as it is dynamic, so you won't really need another DAC/AMP unit soon :gs1000smile:

I have to agree with this. If you're only gonna get one DAC/Amp I would get the iDSD BL. It's versatile, feature rich, and has gobs of power. It'll serve you well as you expand your headphone collection.

If you have a chance try also the Lotoo Paw Gold, it has a great sinergy with the ie800 and it’s a smaller package compared to the idsd bl.

Now you can find a used one at an interesting price.
