Also, are you allowed to talk about the ie800S rumors that came up a month or so back?

Nice try...

Hi there, did you confirm that you are a Sennheiser employee or a contractor?

Also, are you allowed to talk about the ie800S rumors that came up a month or so back?

Yes, I am the Sennheiser employee for Head-Fi, though I've been around for a long time as as Head-Fi member. Here was my announcement: http://www.head-fi.org/t/841044/sennheiser-meet-greet#post_13373653

The only "new" (and I say that in parenthesis on purpose) IE 800 I know about is the recolored one in the Dior Homme collection. Sounds the same, but it has the black and red Dior Homme color scheme, along with top of the line selections among Sennheiser's other audiophile products.

I'm still extremely enthused by this Dior version of ie800 though!

Fair question to ask!
Right now on the site we just have this (new) cable, the RCS 800:
https://en-us.sennheiser.com/rcs-800

I'm not certain if it's longer than the stock cable though, I'll have to ask others in the company. I totally understand wanting long enough cables! Some other possible thoughts, do you perhaps have a belt-clip pouch for your Mojo, that would help it be slightly closer towards your ears? Or have you tried any extension cables or other 3.5mm cables?

Here's the PDF of the RCS 800, still not specifying the length but I will look into it, thanks for bringing the question to my attention: https://en-us.sennheiser.com/global-downloads/file/3848/RCS800_QG_55184.pdf

Awesome!  If you find the length or anything else please tag me!  I've been a loyal Senn fan :p (ie80 -> ie800 -> HD800) so thanks for being so friendly!

Can't easily wear a belt clip for my work, it would stand out too much.  So I mean I technically can, but strongly prefer not to.  I haven't messed around with many other cables, I was first just looking if there was anything you guys or someone offered that wouldn't break up the look of the headphones.  I love how I can wear a 1300+ dollar set up around and have no one notice with how subtle the ie800s are.  Wearing the Mojo out or having a double plugged extension cable would make it stand out a lot more (although I honestly didn't think too much about the extension cable aspect).

Thanks for the reply!

Holy crap.  Can you get that separately from the other Dior stuff?  Not that it all doesn't look amazing, but I don't want an HDVD800 or HD800S / that's too expensive right now.

If the ie800 Dior has a longer cable than the stock ones and isn't like double the price I'd be pretty tempted.

But that HD800S Dior edition is also so beautiful!!! AAAAAA I want one!!!!

For serious though, there might be some sonical improvements and differences between the ie800 that's normal and Dior edition since some materials changed. I know that Senn will say there aren't differences but I've experienced this before with two or three products. If the producer says trhat there are no differences, they are fairly small in general, but still.

What I really want to commend Sennheiser on is that it seems that ie800 Dior and ie800 classic both cost the same amount!!!!

At least this is how it seems so far. I've written a mail asking for more info on the ie800 Dior edition.

It's definitely great to see this enthusiasm! Honestly I've found this thread to be about as active as the HD650 and HD800 threads for comments and posts, which is cool to see (and pass along).

For anyone else who was curious about the Sennheiser x Dior Homme collaborations, here is the official page: https://en-us.sennheiser.com/headphones-earphones-dior-edition

The Dior Homme IE 800 is in the "Pocket Solution" section, though I can't confirm yet if these different "bundles" and "solutions" will be sold separately or as one big collection. The blossoming interest in the Pocket Solution has definitely been noted and passed along to the project managers.

If you scroll down past all the lovely photos and scintillating descriptions, there is a section to subscribe for updates on availability and pricing as soon as we have it all ready, and you can also switch from US to other countries as well if you need to.

Thanks for being a fan, and easy to talk to!
I'm interested to see more specifications on the RCS 800 too; it looks like we've at least added in-line remote controls.

Sign me up! I'd love the whole collection, but I only use IEMs, and special edition versions of the ones I love are a must buy. :D

If that ie800 Dior has a longer cable I will literally instantly buy it if it's around the price of the normal ie800.

I did note that, that's a plus, but I desperately need that longer cable lol.  I literally had to use Apple Earpods today...  Can you imagine the horror?  I'm still coming down from the shock.

(lol but actually they sound like a far away radio compared to the ie800s).

I also think you'll probably sell a lot more if you can do it individually.  I would guess a lot of people want one part of it but not all of em.  Like I have HD800s already with an amp pairing I really love, so I wouldn't want to buy the HDVD800 when I don't need one.  I also personally prefer my SDR modded HD800s over the S, but that is easily my favorite looking S modification I've seen it looks so good.

I'd imagine there are other people who may want the headphones and amp but don't use iems etc...

Edit: any eta on when they'll be available in any form?

I'm actually keeping iDSD bL + ie800 in my hand while travelling around just to get that sweet sound! Nothing can stop the love for the music!

That's pretty dangerous in my area, which is why I need a longer cable and hide my mojo in my pocket.  I'd be somewhat interested in trying the iDAD to see how it sounds, but the size is a little cumbersome.

I loved the Oppo HA-2 convenience wise because it could use 1 small cable instead of needing the USB Camera adapter on my iPhone now for mojo...

I'm sorry to hear that... Romania is not the most friendly place either, and it might not be the best idea to have such a complex set of devices in here either, but meh... Gotta try

Plus the music is usually pretty active. Metal active. Or Active Metals

Ha-2 might still not be as good as Mojo and most certainly not as good as iDSD though...

ie800 respond to iDSD by getting their signature something similar to He-1

It is all in the upcoming review for iFi iDSD BL
