    FiiO X5-2 + ie800 + Poliphya = Heaven combo!

The cybmals are sparkly, mids are sweeet, guitars are well textured and tonality is on-spot! Bass is good and even more! Couldn't ask for more [IMG]

Are you saying the IE800 sound or the Ibasso dap sound?

    Thank you

Haha, i don't know why i find the treble harsh with the SE846. But yes, i do use the black filter and its a lot better! My IE800 are due to come today... didn't come yesterday. I can't wait to review them. Hopefully i don't find the treble too harsh

More sparkle top end than 846. Mind you, i think treble rolloff is exaggerated by some on 846. Maybe very top, but still a dynamic listen, unlike really dulled treble iems or headphones, Oppo cm3 for example.

Oh dear, if you like black filter 846 that dulls music for me, you may find the ie800 a shock! They are fully extended, no hint of artificial roll off.

This is why I love ie800 so much. Really really love that absolute treble extensions that goes above and beyond for us [IMG]

    First impressions?

    Only found brain burn-in personally.

I found that they needed to be burned in. I am also aware of brain burn in. Since I have so many pairs of IEM's and headphones. They didn't sound good and recessed in the mids and treble when I first got them. At least that was for me.

Are ie800's good to listen while running? How is the sound isolation?

  14. cellarbro

average to below average sound isolation. Very microphonic cable. IE800 is more for a sit at home session. Terrible for running and moving around.

I can't imagine that they (or you :) like running with them...

Sound isolation and stability of the plug is quite well with carefully selected ear tips (from Sennheiser), but the microphonic cable is a pure horror with any movement.
