I just got my IEMs yesterday and I'm going to be doing this review progressively.

I'm using IE7 mainly for heavy metal (with a heavy focus on melodic death metal).
When I first got my IE7 i sounds horrible. The bass so bloated. The only way the bass can sound good is the bass getting tighter.

0 hour of burn-in:
Guitar is the only sound I like from these IEMs (especially when the guitarist is sliding the guitar).
I was very very disappointed at this point.

10 hours of burn-in:
Bass is getting tighter (with reference to Imaginary Flying Machines).
Soundstage is awesome as usual.
Its getting delightful.
Imaginary Flying Machines - Arietty's Song

11 hours of burn-in:
Bass sounds muffled and bloated (with reference to double bass drums from Onmyouza)
Onmyouza - Kodou

36 hours of burn in:
Feels like the bass is going from bloated to boomy
Bass tightens somemore after 36 hours, but a very subtle difference only
Blood Stain Child - The Road to Ruin

46 hours of burn in:
Vocals sounding less muffled.
Da Endorphine - Num Tem Gaow

78 hours of burn in:
Bass feels more controlled.
And I just realised one thing. The sound of IE7 is very full. The best reference for it is when you're comparing a Gibson to a Fender. Gibson always have that very 'full' signature sound.
Imaginary Flying Machines - Gake No Ue No Ponyo (feat. Destrage & Yoko Hallelujah)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nbVVJP-fAE

121 hours of burn in:
Bass feels a lot punchier and deeper.
I bought these earphones for the bass. With reference from heavy metal (especially Melodic Death Metal), they sound a lot better after the 100 hours mark.
Vocals from rock and pop songs sound more veiled than before.

From the 122th hour onwards:
The sound changes is very mild.

From the 300th hours onwards:
The IEM feels balanced with an emphasis on the bass.
This is the time when you feel like you will die without one day of this beautiful IEM, IE7.
Vocals from pop songs is better as compared to 46 hours of burn-in.
The bass wouldn't overwhelm the vocal as much as when it was 46 hours old.
As far as bloated, muffled and boomy-ness from the bass is all gone.

More to come..!

Btw, my favorite artist are:
Imaginary Flying Machines
Insomnium
Nightrage
Disarmonia Mundi
Wintersun
Dark Tranquillity
a little bit of In Flames and Disturbed

My IE7 is dead.
Audio only comes out from the Left side.
The right side is dead.

The lifespan of this IEM is 9 months.
I'm bring it to Sennheiser for repairs.

Let's see if this cat can be revived for its nine lives.

On a side note, I bought IE7 for the sake of its durability, because all of my previous $50 IEMs would always last for less than a year. The audio from one side always give out after that (less than a year). I thought IE7 would be different for its renown durability (kevlar cable). I guess I thought wrong.

If this IEM couldn't be repaired, I will probably buy two or three more expensive IEMs to test its durability. The same issue happens, I will give up on expensive IEMs.
