Sennheiser IE7 Appreciation Thread ~~~

Hi

Any recommended earbuds for IE7? I tried Comply foam tips and the isolation is terrible, leading to severely-reduced bass. Currently using Shure E2C earbud and the isolation is way much better than the foam tips.

I have burned them for nearly 220 hrs now. I have reached the point where I may return them. Thoroughly disappointed. They are not complementing my Hd595's in any respect. Non existant highs and boomy, inaccurate bass are not my tastes. Heck even my freind's skullcandies are sounding slightly better.

I am sorry to hear that, but they do require more like 300-400 hour of burn in. maybe try different type of burn in, mix them up with freq sweep, pink noise, white noise, bass heavy test songs. but you must know, the ie7 is not known for its extreme high, its known for its smooth mid and relaxing sound. the bass could be less, the ie7 has more bass then my CX300! but the bass is accurate and nowhere near boomy in my opinion. Boomy bass is more like Bose IE. May I ask how loud you are burning them, because too low isn't effective.

Ohh i am burning them at normal listening levels. Haven't used frequency sweep, white noise and stuff

make the burn in about 10%-20% louder than your normal listening levels. and please do try frequency sweep, just not too loud, normal volume should be good. pink noise alone can't fully burn them

anyways, i brought a shure olive type of eartips for my ie7, it has great isolation, but greatly decrease the soundstage and some bass

I am using Sony Bluetooth earphone tips since yesterday. Good highs, great soundstage, excellent mids, reasonable bass but poor isolation. But atleast I am not complaining.

In my experience, not very forgiving with bad recording because the soundstage is greatly reduced. The primary trait I like the most with the IE7's is its soundstage and losing that is unacceptable. You might want to improve your source before getting these.

the less the isolation the better the ie7 sound. i like the stock single flanged eartips. is comfortable and offer a great balance between isolation and sound stage

I did a frequency sweep couple of times. And now, these days i enjoy IE7 more than HD595. So much that i am dumping HD595s and getting HD650s to complement my IE7s. I actually can't describe the subtle differences which i note from current 400+ burned in pair compared to brand new pair.

Has anyone heard this tune composed by A. R. Rahman ?
Hariharan - Ay Hairathe From the movie Guru.

WHAT A TUNE TO LISTEN TO !!!!!!!!! what a stunning instrument separation !!!
