Hello to all. Hope everyone is doing well and taking care in this particularly hot summer.

I have a question to the IE600 owners who had a fit problem issue.

I think this might be a rare case for a model well known for its small size and comfort.
Unfortunately, my ears, I think, are not the average case to be applied with usual fit/comfort evaluation for the most people
(IER-Z1R fits like as if it was custom-made for me, while I often do 'fine-adjustments' for some models famous for their comfort).

When I insert the left channel unit into my ears, it seems like the tips are hitting the ear-canal and the sound outlet is closed, if a silicone tip is used.
To be honest, I am not 100% sure what is going on, but when the insertion becomes deep, the sound will just disappear.
Perhaps the only tip aside from the stock foam that kind of worked, was Symbio W.
Still it takes time to adjust so that the sound comes out of the nozzle and if I move my head around, the problem will reappear.

I assume the problem might be that there are just too much space in my left ear that the IE600 cannot be firmly placed.
However, I would like to know if there was anyone who faced similar difficulties, or listen if I am looking at the problem in the wrong light.

I may just use the stock foam as I have no big complaint, however I always prefer to have a silicone tip option and the stock tips are not easy to find around this town.

Thank you very much for reading about the small problem I am having and I will appreciate any suggestions!

@BooleanBones Thanks for the suggestion and the link! I am kind of new to using this 'forum' system, so learning what's where really helps. After posting this question, I thought maybe I should do a bit more of experimentation on my side and then bother other people for help. If I cannot find a better solution, I will post on the forum. If I manage to fix the problem, I will post the solution!

The IE400 tips look like something that I had better try. The 'cross' at the end of the tips look much stronger than that of IE600's which may help with keeping the tip opened, I hope.

No worries. Sennheiser starts threads for all their releases here, which are a good read. The 900/300/200 threads may be a good read for you too as they all fit generally the same. The Spinfit CP100+ work well for me too, but they don't have the foam filter and would need modification if that is a must for you.

Seems like a good idea, maybe I should first do more of my research in those forums.

Since 200 is mentioned, the real question I ask to myself is that why I had no problem with any eartip with 200 but I have this problem with 99.5% of eartips for the 600. I have managed to make a quite varying eartips selections that I think I am done with the eartips hunting for a few decades to come at least!

If I find a good reason and the solution, I would be happy to report on the IE series specific forums for other people who might have similar issue.

Thanks again for the kind helps and suggestions!

Sennheiser's own silicone tips are unusual. They have an extra groove so that they fit on the stems in two places -- all the way down and a few millimeters up. (It's pictured in the user manual.)

I also find that instead of pushing the buds all the way into my ears, like most IEMs, I insert my IE300 (same shape and tips as IE600) and then pull them out a tiny bit, so the soft silicone molds to the ear canal. If you're not getting any sound, you're closing off the stem somehow, so you may need stiffer foam. But you should also try the two different placements of the original Sennheiser silicones. I also have large ears, and I tried a lot of other silicones and foams. None were as good as the Sennheiser silicones, placed slightly up the stem.

Thanks for the comment. I actually tried utilizing the grooves, but to be honest, I just gave it was without much effort to get a correct fit (probably due to low expectation bias). It seems like it really did something for you and I had better try more seriously when the next IE600 day comes.
