Does anyone have any experience with the Senn HE 60 electrostatic HP/Amp combo ? A friend of mine is new to headphone audio and has a chance to pick up a used one. Otherwise he's thinking of the MG head with a pair of Grado 325's. Any impressions on the HE 60 would be a big help.

Apparently the headphones are excellent, but the amp is only marginal. I would reccommend that he get the HE60 and build a Kevin Gilmore electrostatic amp for it. I would also be interested in picking up the HE60 for cheap, however be warned that I don't have much of a headphone budget at the moment, so I can't really offer more than $250. I don't, however, know what a normal used price for these would be- they're pretty rare.

BTW, the MG Head does NOT play well with Grados. At all. The RA-1 is much better for the $$$. Much, MUCH MUCH better.

Do NOT get the MG head for Grados. For HD600s it's great, but NOT for Grados!!!!!!
