Doesn't say much but fully symmetrical. Who knows what balanced implementation it will use. Going by it's smaller size I assumed it was a bridged design, considering it also has a DAC inside to share room.

Interesting. Does this mean Sennheiser will be selling balanced cables for the 600 and 800?

Might they be implying high out-put impedance?

Why announce it in April with availability in September?

Why not plan for a major electronics show where you can announce the product and then ship it in volume within a couple of weeks?

CanJam@RMAF 2012 is right after the supposed launch and I'd bet that Sennheiser will be at the show to display the new amp, along with most likely the HD700, and maybe other new stuff. More info on RMAF including date & location: http://audiofest.net/2012/index.php

CanJam@RMAF is a major event/show for the Head-Fi audience. Anyone even a little bit interested in headphones should make it out to that event. Start saving up now if you need to.

This is great.  I sure hope this amp will sound great with lower impedance phones as well.

Looks like Sennheiser just solved my upgrade problem. Buying on launch day. Maybe Jude could get an exclusive interview with some tech specifics?

Safe to say Sennheiser is going to offer balanced cables soon I guess.

Depends on what you think will work better. The Sennheiser amp will probably be more similar to the Bryston amp in that it will likely go from balanced to single to balanced, whereas the Mjolnir will be completely balanced. We also have no idea of the specs for the Sennheiser. Anyone else wonder if the Sennheiser amp is OEM by Lehmann? Design is reminiscent of their amps.

i thought of lehmann also when i saw this - wouldnt surprise me if there was some collaboration as Senn were using the BCL at trade shows so maybe there is a connection but then again they will be competitors wont they ?

Anyway im very excited about the possibility of Senn perhaps creating the perfect amp to drive the HD800's - you would expect it to be up there with the best and if reviews prove that it is up there or even better then im sure it will sell very well and add another jewel to the Senn crown.
