I think a smart approach would be a treble somewhere in the middle that both camps could tolarete and enjoy. But who knows what tuning they have in mind.

Just get an email this early morning (1 am est) said the transaction is declined due to the anti- fraud. The website is not available to place an order for HD 820. You can still place an order through phone call, but it will be a back order. The estimated shipments will be the middle of July.

One approach is....instead of spending nearly $3000 USD for a mystery.....why not just forget about this Headphone until OCT 1.
Then go and read all the reviews and see if there is a "i hate this" type of consensual feeling amongst the reviews, or if you can tell, after reading, that this one is one of those that everyone can't listen to enough and all the reviews say you should get it, as you'll love it, as by that time there will be plenty of used "mint" ones for $1700 "shipped".
Or you can buy a $2500 Mystery, now.
Its your money....

I am not worried about the bad feedback since my order will be delayed to the middle of July. I believe that before I got mine, there will be plenty of the reviews on the Internet to help me to decide to return or keep it.

It doesn't make me nervous, it makes me happy, since I have the Linear II 250 but I've never heard the (much more expensive) HD 800.

and I like my son's Beats Solo over HE-6 sometimes...I am not sad at all...
