Pull out and snap in kinda easy, but it needs a bit of works

Definitely not the easiest of the designs I know of. I wish Sennheiser would come up with a better design.

    I saw a add for 800 s v2. Is there a sound difference between v1 and v2?
  4. Ichos
    What is the v2 edition?
  5. joseph69
There's only 800 & 800S so they must mean the 800S because it's the model released after the original 800.
  6. Luke Thomas
I could be wrong, but somewhere i heard that the newer 800s uses the 820 diaphragm. Which is a little different than the original 800s. If so Id guess no sound difference.

I think there would've been more posts about this and I've never read anything about it.

    It does not.

Did sennheiser stop including a balanced cable with a new purchase?
  11. exdmd
Not for the HD800S they just changed termination on the balanced cable. You still get both unbalanced and balanced cables, as you should at that price, but the balanced one is now terminated with a balanced 4.4 mm jack plug instead of the XLR-4 connector mine came with.

So if your amp only has the xlr-4 like my Violectric, You have to purchase a different cable?

Different cable or 4-pin xlr male balanced to 4.4mm female balanced adapter

Diy 4.4 terminal to xlr4 is best and easy way!
Unless you want to keep for sale later

The least expensive I’ve seen the 800s is $1599. Anyone know of a store that sells them new for less than $1599
