Here's another photo that I probably should attribute to StereoNet.

My mean headphone is AKG K812, now the second AKG K712 (I sold a part of my collection). I search one between both, more like a K812, but cheaper. Are HD660S really this ding?

+ hd650 not named in other 4 "top mix headphones" lists that google offers me .

@boodi, it's clear that you don't like the HD650. That's fine - no problem whatever with that. However, I did want to help you understand its place in the world of pro audio. It seems it's not going well so far, perhaps because you'd like to prove me wrong. I don't know where you've looked but when I did a Google search for top studio headphones the first five hits were these:-

https://www.spriee.com/best-buy/best-studio-headphones/

https://ehomerecordingstudio.com/best-recording-studio-headphones/

https://www.audiomentor.com/audioproduction/10-best-studio-headphones-for-recording-mixing-mastering

https://www.wirerealm.com/guides/best-studio-headphones-for-mixing-mastering

https://equipboard.com/posts/best-studio-headphones-for-music-production

I'm sure you can find five lists that don't include the HD650, but that's probably true of any individual headphone. There's lots more I could say and links I could give to articles that would help you understand how widely used the HD650 is (and has been), but I suspect that you've already made up your mind. It really makes no difference to me (or to the reputation of the HD650) what you happen to think - I was just trying to help you.

All the best.

sure I'm not going to dig all the headphones top lists on the net now as you made the job for me anticipating there are loads of (advertised or not) lists that that do not show hd650 .. I needed to prove nothing on the other hand but to answer to your un-offensive assumption I was discrediting myself :frowning2:

top of that my real life told me hd650 is not that widespread in studios really.. talking real life.......ok maybe someone uses it ,but eventually users around the web doesn't tell the story much different : I came reporting this from the very place you linked me to, wonder why anyone reporting was naming or using another pair and not hd650
not much to add ,
all the best Mike :hand_splayed:

Studios tend to use closed headphones and something like HD 650 costs truckloads more than something like Sennheiser HD 280 Pro. People who do their stuff at their home studios would likely not use Sennheiser HD 280 Pro.

please notice I passed the ball
I'm not gonna go around facebook and the web to search pictures of audio master engineers and audio technicians displaying gadgets and headphones on their profile
that I like
to make a point on someone

I'm sure there are hundreds of them

all good , long life to hd650 users

You have made a point that nobody can deny.

Here is what email from this Website states (bold style added):

Charles E Flynn, boodi replied to a thread you are subscribed to at Headphone Reviews and Discussion - Head-Fi.org

To sum up, the consensus of relatively-recent opinion is to answer "Yes" to the question posed by the subject of this thread.

A cautionary note: The vast majority of headphone reviews are made by listening with a pair of headphones to recording probably mastered with a different set of headphones.

I have to go clean my room now.
