Very nice.... is that also known for that copper mod ? Am quite unsure about the mods. How much sounds better ? It looks aesthetically pleasing...finally took a pic of my modded 6xx. sounds noticably better than before imo.

An excellent combination, especially with the 6XX being Custom Cans modded, all foam removed, and earside mesh replacing earside foam. Natural tonality, clear imaging & soundscape ==> engaging, involving, rewarding.Very curious about the violectric with the 650….

The cable is Custom Cans UK.I recognise it as an HD6XX modded with a Custom Cans copper mass load mod (https://jfunk.org/wpc/product/hd600-hd650-cnc-copper-mass-loading-mod-diy-kit/).
I don’t know what cable is connected to it though, but if it sounds as good as it looks it’s definitely a winner!

It sounds faster and more dynamic than before. Overall more forward and engaging, esp the low end, better soundstage width and depth. It also sounds much better now through the valhalla 2 with tungsram and foton. Before modding, the difference of hd6xx+luxman internal vs hd6xx+vahalla2 was just difference in presentation but not necessary enjoyment, now it sounds much better thru the valhalla2.

thank you! I upgraded the cable to an audiophile ninja one already, the stock one was way too short haha. the luxman makes for a nicer photo than the vahalla2 too hahaLooks nice! Next step, cable upgrade?
I'm really enjoying the HD 6XX with the ZMF perforated suede pads. They are very comfortable and sound good. I wasn't comfortable removing the pads off my beloved HD 650 so I purchased a new 6XX to try the ZMF pads, and I'm glad that I did.
Curious to know where you got the counterweight? Also located in Toronto.finally took a pic of my modded 6xx. sounds noticably better than before imo.

Custom Cans UK cnc backweight modification kit for HD6XX. To modify further, remove driver-side foam, ear-side foam, replace ear-side foam with fine mesh, leave the cnc backweight ‘doughnut hole’ unfilled. See below:Curious to know where you got the counterweight? Also located in Toronto.
Thanks!

Thanks. I took a look at their website - whats the difference between the copper and silver? (aside from aesthetics)Custom Cans UK cnc backweight modification kit for HD6XX. None that I can detect. The 6XX cnc-milled backweight is actually nickel plated copper.Thanks. I took a look at their website - whats the difference between the copper and silver? (aside from aesthetics)

@jonathan c Nice. Where did you get the fine mesh?

@hbmorrison Thank you. I purchased the mesh fabric at an ‘arts & craft’ shoppe. I then cut the fabric to shape such that the earpad bracket would hold it in place.

anyone here used the dekoni fenestrated lambskins on their 650? i put them on my 650 first and i felt like it made them sound worse, like added a veil to the "veil". stuffy sounding. i took them off almost immediately and put them on my 600's and they sound amazing. i havent felt like removing them again to give them a second shot but has anyone else disliked the combo?
