I would say Modi 3 or Modius instead of the Modi Multibit. The Schiit Heresy is also more than capable.

On the JDS camp, you have the Atom DAC and AMP stack as an alternative.

Both work equally great for a transparent dac/amp combo with the HD6XX.

An ODAC and the Magni Heresy are incredible for the price.

JDS released an Atom Dac, I would probably go with that over the Odac.

I used a Magi 3+ and Modi multibit with my HD650's and really liked it. I'm currently using the Modius with the Rupert Neve headphone amp using XLR cables. I like it better but the Neve cost $500 and the Magni 3+ a $100. I think for the price the Modi multibit and Magni 3+ makes a great combo.

I'm gonna try the HM5 Sheepskin pads on my HD 650, and report back the results. They were the most refined sounding pad on my HD 540, so I hope it'll be the same for the HD 650

The Shure 1540 pads, while being the most refined sounding and closest to the stock pads of all the current pads I've tried, has the same amount of bass as the stock pads, maybe sliiiightly more, but still lacking for me to enjoy my music.
