it's the one spec that doesn't mean anything anyway. does anybody even know what criteria they use get that value for the spec? ^_^ they could write 0hz to 8gigahertz it wouldn't mean anything to me.

I think I know the criteria used for that FR - must look good and impressive.

Interesting. There must have been a refresh of the headphones. 39.5 kHz sill shows on the spec on both B&H and Amazon (which has these for sale at $315 today).
Maybe they just adjusted their testing methodology, possibly using broader limits.

Yes, if you are looking for a different sound signature from your HD650 and are willing to or have a amp that pairs well with the HD700.

I wonder if the CRACK or the SEX will be a good choice for the HD700?

Thanks!
I like the BH Crack with my HD700 but it also depends on the tubes used since the HD700 is only 150ohms so using a power tube that has a lower output impedance like the TS5998 seems to keep the HD700 from being too rolled of in the highs. While the HD700 does sound better with a tube amp it does sound good/great with some of the slightly warmer SS amps like the Liquid Carbon, HA-501, Polaris and a few others.
