i think it's time to introduce age restrictions. people older than 40 can view pictures like that only under spouse's supervision

Hahahahaha my wife pretty much doesn't get why I want to own more than one pair of headphones, much less why I would want that many. Of course, she bought me my customs, so I'm definitely not complaining....

(also I'm not over 40! Might need to lower that age restriction a bit.)

After listening to the HD660S, HD650 and HD6XX so much today I changed up the headphones for the night so this picture does not have any of them:

SRH-1840, RS2e, LCD-2f, TH-600 and HD800.
This should be viewed only with spouse's supervision

That lot's worth more than my car. And my bike, my dogs & possibly myself as well. My wife would divorce me even if it were an option.

How does your BottleCrack compare to your Audio-GD (w/ the 650)? I just saw/read a sick build of the BottleCrack here -> http://diy.koenigs.dk/2014/03/02/bottlehead-crack-and-speedball-review/
I don't have a Audio-GD amp, the gear in the picture behind the headphones: Teac UD-301, SYS, Ember, Lyr2 and BH Crack. As for the BH Crack I think the tubes make more of a difference than changing all the caps and speed ball. My usual power tubes are WE421a or TS5998 and driver tube of choice is Telefunken or Siemens. The reason the power tubes make a difference is they are what controls the output impedance of the BH Crack and the WE421a and TS5998 are said to have the lowest from what I've been told in the BH thread. You should look at the BH Crack thread since there are some really nice builds there.

I intend to drive my HD650 headphones primarily with Lotoo Paw Gold Diana, but also wonder if anyone has used a Sony NW-WM1A in balanced? Has anyone used HD650s with Lotoo Paw Gold Diana?

I have the Massdrop 6xx..basically the 650’s. I almost find the sound a little too relaxing. Maybe I just like a more analytical headphone but there are moments in music you know are there that just kind of have a linear approach to the execution. They’re almost too warm for me. True, bass is improved. But I miss the vocal forwardedness of the HD600s. Response is better and tighter on these but all the music feels like it’s in a line with no depth. Width is improved slightly as well; though I had no expectations for a major increase in this area. I can listen to these all day but they lose neutrality for me in the added warmth. This for me isn’t as satisfying. Thoughts?

I finally realized after listening to so many different headphones, $100 pairs to $5000 i still realized that, i still love my sennheiser hd650s. i have never heard another headphone that can produce detailed but heavy bass like the sennheiser hd650s. Even though the sound is a little laid back, i still love them. i tried the grado sr325is and i just didnt like the sound, it was sort of muffled, there was (to me) hardly any detail. all i have to say is I LOVE MY 650s! No one can take them away from me!

My Audioquest Nighthawks sound like bloated crap on every player I have. Well, at least that's what I thought. Then I paired it with my Lotoo Paw Gold Diana, and it is the absolute best sounding combination I have. And I have headphones that are three, four, five, and six times more expensive. That is the main reason I am going to try the HD650. I want to see what PAW Gold can do with that! Diana is a bright, aggressive one. She pairs so damn well with warm headphones.

Same here, (I just got the hd6xx) almost tied a stick of dynamite to them at first listen, they do open up and get airy with some burn in, (I started to notice a difference after about 50 hours of burn in using pink noise off YouTube) and vocals are more forward on max power off my iDSD Black Edition. And these sound AMAZING compared to my X2's,

Felt the exact same way. got the 650s first and the amazing relaxing sound instantly drew me in... but its intial wow fades and it just becomes sickening, like too much chocolate cake. returned them for the 600s and dont regret it at all. definitely a slight downgrade in performance but the sound signature couldnt be more perfect, with most of the 650s essence still intact
