If you like the iPod Classic...try the FiiO X3ii...better still, add the FiiO E12a.  That'll make the 650's sing.  Yes I know that the E12a is only rated to 150 ohm but switch the E12a to High Gain, switch on the Bass Boost and you'll be surprised how good the Senn's sound.

I agree 100% with Tuneslover regading adding the FiiO!  I have the FiiO e17, (DAC/AMP version of e12) and whlie less powerful than the e12, still makes the HS-650s sound tons better.  Though I will point-out that until recently the e12 was the king of portable amps in the BEST BASSHEAD HEADPHONES thread, it has since been over-taken by the Cayin C5.  So if you are considering a portable amp, it might be worth a gander.  I personally use an iFi iDSD Micro with mine, but it a different class altogether, and much more expensive.  (Like 5 times more expensive than an e12!)  But it is a world-class portable DAC with a good (and obscenely-powerful) portable amp thrown in for good measure.

Or, get the best of both worlds... combine a FiiO E11K with an iPod Classic (v5.5). It's embarrassing for me how good this combo sounds with HD-650s, given the low cost compared to my desktop rig.

Mother screw** 650's on a mother screw** plane!

No... the 650s are used at the hotel. While flying, I use my Bose QC-25s. Yes, I travel with two sets of cans
