I just got the HD650's and I absolutely hate the cable. It is too long and very stiff. Also, the 1/4" plug means that I have to use the adapter for pretty much everything I have. Any recommendations for a decent replacement cable that doesnt cost as much as the headphones themselves? Thanks in advance..

Just deal with it . 1st world problem. Otherwise spend some money. Or cut the cable in half and attach an 1/8 jack on and run in some moisturiser to soften the cable.

It feels durable enough that I wouldn't fret over accidentally running over the cord with a chair, and the length can be really useful imho.

I don't really know honestly. The D1 was $220 and the headphones retail for $400-500 do I'd at least be willing to go up in that same range cost of $400-500.

Hah someone will give it a home before me I suppose. It took me 3 years to buy the HD650...it might take me another three to pair it with the amp it would love the most.
 
 
But I think partially the reason why I am so excited is because man....I remember when I first got into audio or at least saw a high end headphone online on amazon or something. This was maybe 8 years ago? I remember seeing it and back then the HD650 was lauded as quite possibly the best headphone in the world. It was a moniker you'd often hear associated with the can online. I remember imagining...what must that sound like? I wanted to hear it so bad...I wanted to see it so bad. Years later...I will finally have one. It's an actual dream come true for me and I can't be any happier about it.

Think of it as just as good of a deal as your HD650s .  I think the icing on the cake is it will be pre-assembled.  It's literally put itself together for you!

Try Forza Audioworks. I couldn't be any happier with the cable, and it cost about 80€. They have cheaper options too, I think.

"Moisturiser", really? I'm not sure if that's a joke or not. Is there a specific variant to use? I'm looking for a smooth, warm sound.
