So i've got Sennheiser HD558 Headphones that slowly but surely start falling apart (all pads are either damaged or falling off). So my question is this, is it worth upgrading to new Headphones, or should i just replace the pads and use them for a couple more years?

I use my headphones from everything from listening to music on my way to uni and back, to gaming with them.

It's fairly cheap to buy replacement pads for the HD558 (eBay).
Can we assume you plug your headphones directly into the motherboard on a Windows PC?\
Make and model of the motherboard?
Budget for new headphones?
