Sennheiser HD515 or HD485

There's a £10 difference between them, and they both seem pretty good. If the HD515 is only a little bit better than the HD485 I'll go with the HD485. Or even better if you can find a cheaper one thats better than both. I'll be using these for gaming.

I'd look for the HD555, it's just a bit more expensive than the 515 and 485 but is much better.

I've never heard the 555 or 515, but I used the 485 for my main headphone at work for about 2 years. IMO, it's a small step down from the HD 580 being run from an inexpensive amp. The bass is a little less detailed. There's just as much, just not as refined. The HD580 scales better when you get better equipment. Without an amp, I think the HD485 sounds better.

No matter which you get, the longer you stay here, the faster you'll want to upgrade.

The HD5xx series lacks bass. If you like bass, go with HD485.
