I am looking at getting either the HD 500 or 570. Which ones do you guys think I should get? These would be hooked up to an Optimus STAV-3350 Reciever with the line out from my PC feeding it.

hmm why did you have these in mind specifically?

as far as i know, the 570s aren't really spoken of highly here... (plus i've heard them, and to me it sounded like they had too much bass & treble, and not enough midrange.) i don't know about the hd500...

you might want to look at the hd497 (or get an hd580/600 cheap second hand.)

I've listened to the 500's -- they're not worth getting. If I remember correctly, they most as much as the Grado Sr60s, which even though I am not a fan of, they're much, much better.

The HD580 is the best deal in the Sennheiser lineup.

If you need to look lower,

try HD497.

Well, I've pretty much made up my mind. I'm going to save up and get the HD497.
