Look what those blockheads posted about KSC-75

WORST SOURCE EVER

Might not be the same reviewer that do the 20$ headphone reviews and the 300$ one. Also sport hp vs home hp. Anyway i prefer the reviewer here at head-fi, we can be sure that they weren't paid to critic their headphone but instead had to put some flame on the wallet

Regardless, KSC-75 is the best you can get when it comes to price - performance.

The OP is part of the site, isn't he? Link.

The Koss KSC75 isn't an independent case, the site also give a 8/10 to the SkullCandy Smokin' Buds - the worst canalphone I even owned in my life. Not to mention the 'Stuff Recommended', 7/10, Bose Triport. This is some review site.

A really sad excuse for a review site. You can really tell you're dealing with imbeciles when you read a line like
Quote:

The distortion that these phones create makes everything sound like techno because everything sounds fuzzy.

I had no idea techno was fuzzy! Wow, thanks crazy imbecile headphone reviewer! I wonder if a piece of his brain fell into the driver and that was where the distortion was coming from.

LOL, look at the review of the GS1000:
Quote:

Very Expensive. Quite Heavy (with a headband that really makes you feel the weight). Hard to get your hands on a pair.

You think they were so "hard to get your hands on" that the reviewer just made the whole thing up by looking at pictures?

I'm not saying that some stupid or completely wrong things can be said, but I think people are losing sight of the fact that a review is just one person's opinion. What's important or not important to someone else may not jive with your own priorities. Some people may like Koss' earclip feature, while others may hate it. Doesn't mean that either is right or wrong. Even sound quality is subjective ... although when you have a huge majority with the same opinion, chances are that opinion has more validity ... as long as that opinion hasn't been created by peer pressure or a lemming/sheep reaction.

This reminds me of what some comedian once said about other people's driving. Those who drive faster than him are idiots. Those who drive slower than him are also idiots. Most of us share that reasoning.

We have a lot of threads bashing that site lately don't we? That said if you look at the Triport review he basically says those are the only expensive pair he has used. This is certainly bad for a headphone site, but as far as that reviewer knows, the Triports are good. It looks like it could be the same with the Skullcandy review. Basically it doesn't look like they mean to be bad, they just lack experience, which I will agree is not a good thing since it could lead consumers into a purchase that is not the best for their money. But most people will read their reviews, buy the product, and be happy, blissful in their ignorance. As for the KSC-75, I have no idea what's going on there.

mbriant, if I were to start publishing books about 17th century England tomorrow and passed myself off as an expert on the matter, having very little experience in the topic, would you say I'm entitle to my opinion and people should stop criticising me? Ofcourse not. That site is a joke, and it should be ridiculed til the cows come home.

KSC75 review is attrocious, do ppl just write a review and post it without any sort of approval or proof reading? The whole thing is written badly as well.

As for the 650 review, its not bad, but too much time wasted in tag lines which sound too much like quotes and lines off a Sennheiser advertisement. There are hardly any details whatsoever. Its all just glorification and generalization.

I see your point. It's just that I read their Sony V6 review, and IMO, what was said didn't seem way off base. Are all the reviews written by the same person? And of course, it's preferential that if you're going to pass yourself off as a credible reviewer, that there's some width and depth to your knowledge. I've disagreed with many seasoned professional reviewers about specific items, movies, music, etc. in the past, and I guess that's the point I was trying to make.....just because you don't agree with a reviewer's take on something, doesn't necessarily make HIM or HER an idiot or a liar. But you're right, if they don't have some real experience behind them, they shouldn't be passing themselves off as a serious reviewer....and that site's page layout makes it look like a serious, professional review....not just some wanabee's opinion. So bash away.
