Jude, thanks for the informative review. Do you know the rationale for naming this a 630? Could you see any similarity with other members of the 6xx "family" in sound or comfort? i somehow don't think that I'll be replacing my HD600s with these any time soon!

This also puts this headphone with other top tier well regarded closed headphones in its price range such as the audeze el8 closed, the ultrasoune signature dj ( when its on a discount ) the alpha dogs and the final audio Pandora hope vi. Love to see how it will stack up to those well regarded heavyweights.

So the VB is a passive system, like the Beyer COP?

Cannot be. The dial is on one side only. My best guess is that it is either a high pass or low shelf with variable resistance.

Between the MIN and the first major index point, I can discern little change in tonal balance. However, when I keep turning past there, the changes become more evident. What I love is that there's minimal effect on the lower midrange, until you get into its highest settings,

Very cool if it can maintain balance between bloat and recess at most settings. Any word if there will be a version without the controls?

@Rosmadi Mahmood

Any plans for a couple of Head-Fi review tours?  I'd certainly be keen to participate (or even organise) a "Down Under" tour.

Closed and hot hp, 400g made for smartphones/potables on the move!?
Very good for the Eskimo's!

Like artists we must suffer for our music- The less comfort, the better! The best listening happens when the pads are sodden with sweat and I can't feel my ears- It's like haptic feedback for the pain in Sam Cooke's croon

Non-user replaceable cable for the Sennheiser HD series? Not impressed.
