  @ubs28 ^ I don't have any treble issue, (to be specific hi hat cymbal instrument) with the SE846, SE535 LTD and SE215. I ended up buying the SE215. But when I put on the HD600 and HD800, the hi hat cymbal instrument is killing me. I know its a bit awkward comparing IEM with headphone. Anyhow what do you think about it? Does the HD800S have this issue or HD650? 
 
I have a similar problem with my HE1000 and I have to EQ then down a bit.

 
I don't have hi hat or cymbal instrument issues with the HD 800 S, but I think the HD 650 is safer choice if that is your problem. Also try out the Hifiman Edition-X if you haven't already.

  As an added bonus, the HD 650 is also more comfortable than the HD 600.

 
I think this comes down to specific pairs, how much the clamp has been relieved, and condition of the pads.  Brand new they are pretty much identical.  When I lent my HD600 to a friend for comparison with his HD650 he was mazed at how much more comfortable my 600's were.  In reality it was just the clamp force difference.

Seems like you rather sensitive to treble. I, too, had little trouble with treble, so I usually just eq them down slightly (1 - 2 db).

Apologies to all purist out there, but I'm still unable to upgrade my amplifier to better one.

  I dont know whether its only me that is so sensitive to treble. Whenever I listen to the HD600, I have to EQ down the treble a little, they just make by ears bleed. The HD800 is even more problematic...

I used to have this issue, then I switched to tubes...

Crappy music is an issue. HD600 is unforgiving headphone.

Gonna agree with both madwolfa and RickB. Crap recordings or crap copies of your music will sound like, well... crap with 600's. Particularly in the treble department.
 
As for the 600's natural treble... tubes, definitely tubes. Dont think I'd go back to SS.

Which tube amp would you recommend? I currently have a schiit stack (modi 2 uber + magni 2), but I just bought a schiit bifrost uber. I was thinking on buying the Little Dot MKIII Tube Headphone Amp, but read that there is mobile interference.

Thanks for this Bob.  I am on the verge of buying a Valhalla 2 and Bifrost to pair with my hd 600.  I've never had a tube amp, at least not for the last 40 years (yes, an old Fisher I wish I still had...) and I wonder whether I should stick with SS..I am guessing I will be leaving this on for long periods of time and will sometimes use it with little or no warm up.  Having heard some talk about their experience I wonder if I might be better off stick with SS?  What might I miss or gain from having a solid state amp for the HD 600.  Any suggestions for a SS amp for the HD 600?

Imo, the Valhalla 2 is better sound with the Hd600 than any solid state at the same price (tho I certainly haven't heard them all). You don't want to leave Valhalla powered on all the time, since that would shorten tube life. But when you turn it on to listen, it will mute for 30 seconds and then give great sound from the start.
BOTH solid state and tube amps sound their best after a long warmup, so no advantage/disadvantage there.
