Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread

Best value for the money headphones on the market imho. I paid £170 for mine almost a year ago. (It was new, unwanted gift from a HD650 owner father, who wanted to educate his son to use HD600 instead of Beats... With no success...) Best spent money in my audio purchase history, lucky buy. :) Still can not get enough of them. :)

Listening to Richard Marx - Touch Of Heaven

Absolutely incredible on the LD MKIII. Simply incredible. The lush mids. The sweet vocal tonality . The quality bass, the center-stage of awesomeness.

The loudness of the Senn's don't bother me anymore.  So what if these HD600's get loud as hell?  These headphones were meant to be listened on low to moderate volume. That's why they are reference/hi-fi.

I'm going to stop being picky and adjust my volume to my comfort zone. Even if it's on the 9'oclock mark.

In the beginning, it was a bit of shock to the system, because my DT990's were always the "fun" type, and i use to crank those up a little bit so i can enjoy my music.

So low volume listening on the HD600, another chapter of greatness !!!!!

I listen on the loud side and have no issues with my HD600's which in many ways can give my HE-500's a run for the money.

I just hopped on this last night. For the past 2 years I've been wanting to try a Senny, and now I get to at a great price! :)

I'm hoping they'll be a great compliment to my HE400's.

Do you guys just store yours in the box when not in use?

I keep mine on a headphone stand. As it is in daily use. :)

Nice, thats something else I need to pick up. I have my HE400 on a banana stand atm lol. Thinking about picking up those omega plastic holders but I don't know how well they work.

Do you have a preference on stands?

When not in use, I keep mine in a clear plastic box that I can close to keep dust off of my cans. I have a travel case that I got on Amazon, only I rarely take my HD600's out of the house. Another alternative is, I couldn't find a case that fit's my HE-500's so I got a camera bag. The camera bag fits perfectly and it's padded for when on the road, although my HE-500's rarely leave the house. Neither of these cans are good for noisey environments and they are bulky, but they sound so good.

I'm driving my headphones with a FiiO E10K amp/dac. This volume pot goes to 8 and I usually have it set between 1 and 4 for music. Does that mean the E10K has more than enough power to drive these phones? Feeling a bit of insecurity because in the specs, this amp is rated for 16-150 ohm headphones and I don't have a reference for what adequately powered 600's should sound like.

No, I do not have preference on stands. Until it is functioning (holds the headphones), it is fine for me. :) I do not mind, if it looks good though, mine is made of wood, but it was not expensive.
I also have a portable case from Amazon. 3-4 times a year, when I leave home for longer time, I use it to take my HD600 with me... Cause 2 weeks would be too long without them :) If you worry about dust, you can use it at home too.
I have also seen, some guys using a kind of a transparent plastic 'bell' to put over the heaphone stand with the headphone on it, to protect it from dust... I might gonna try to get something like that...

Is this deal still active? I'm trying my best to get it to work, and it won't. Thanks.

Yes, it is. You actually have to type in the promo code manually instead of copy-and-paste in order for it to work.

I actually copy-pasted it and it worked. I didn't proceed with the order though.
