Where are the HD600 made these days? My older pair was from Ireland, I think.

Romania, all new HD 6 family headphones are made there now.

Really? Didn’t know they made any in Asia. I guess the US and Euro market ones are made in Romania then.

Would that be "Custom Cans"? I had a pair made about 2.5 years ago for my 600, Silver Ears likes them. I just had them do another set for my Alara/HE5SE. Good products, very low impedance, well put together. Tend to cut haze/halos in the treble, nice balance.

Try the 600 on a BH Crack, well better than my Ragnarok 1 using balanced. In particular bass under 60 Hz.

It was MavisModz for about 70 bucks in US funds. I haven't heard the 600 on the BH Crack. I have heard it on an Eddy Current Zana Deux and they sounded great.

Listen HD600 with Cayin N6ii via Triton8 hybrid cable are an excellent combination. :smile_phones:

You're welcome. I already have the 6XX and 58X but I've long been curious about the HD600. I may now give them a try.

Thats not possible. HD600/650 were made only in Ireland and now in Romania.

Plz help me understand : Its a common consensus here that all sennheiser series 6 headphones, namely 6xx/650/600/660s have excellent mids, vocals and instruments sound natural. The bass and treble rolls off.

I wonder why there is need to steeply roll off bass?

    Don't everyone love bass.

Why this model never got proper bass treatment or tuning?

Plz excuse my ignorance, am a novice.

The 600 was designed what 22 years ago, to meet a price point. Acoustic music, rock, pop - it all lives in the mids, so that's what they went for and what they got right. The treble isn't amazing but it supports the mids well, and if there is a triangle or cymbal, it's not lost. Bass? Yes starts to roll off at 70 Hz on my macho Rag 1, but the timbre and speed are absolutely excellent. Guess what? I've had the chance to twice run this on the tubed amp: Bottlehead Crack, and the bass is flat to 40 Hz, with credible bass still hanging into the low 30's. Besides pipe organs and electronica, there is basically nothing under 30 Hz.

I know the 650 too, and find that too veiled, with an annoying hump in the midbass.

Like most people I'm hung up on value/quality. You can get a new BH Crack kit and HD-600 for under $1k, go used it might be more like $600. I can name combos that are better - current price on HE6SE and Schiit Mjonir 2, but that's almost $1600.

i believe you can get the same with the Brainwavz version, great comfort better than stock and a mix of pleather, perforated p. in the inner side and velour, better sound than stock for roughly 20-25 bucks a steal !

can the stock cable be converted with an adaptor female 3.5mm to 4 pin xlr ?

I don't recommend converting single-ended connection to balanced to avoid any potential mishap. The other way is perfectly fine.
