Hi Guys,

My 595's are going back to Sens again to get the headband replaced yet again but today I was told something new
bigsmile_face.gif

that the headband has been redesigned to stop this cracking

I also asked if it has been redesigned how come the 598s are still effected? as they would surely have this new band as they are newer
I was told many of the early 598 didn't have this new band either

has anyone seen these updated bands? and do they really stop this cracking?

also wondering what's so different about them ?

Probably a different material or something...I believe the wood-looking band around the spot where it normally cracks on the 598 is what prevents it there.

Are they actually gonna send back a 595 or just give you a 598 though?

they're just going to replace the headband on my 595's theyonly replaced it just over a month ago and its cracked again

in fact might as well post up the email the service manager sent me today....

Hi Lee,

In confirmation of the conversation we have had this morning:

There has been a design change in the headband to prevent this
cracking from occurring. Unfortunately it seems that the headband we
fitted as a replacement to yours was of the older design. We have
ordered some new stock, which is of the newer design, which is due
into us later this week.

My colleague Nina will be in touch with you to arrange a collection of
your headphones next Monday (once we have the parts in stock) and we
will aim to complete the repair and return them to you within a couple
of days of receipt.

I trust this is a satisfactory resolution for you. Should you have any
further questions please feel free to contact me.

Regards,

About time - I imagine fixing these headphones all the time cost them a lot of money anyway.

Now they just need to fix the paint job on the HD 650's. :-/

Hmm, my 595 needs a few things fixed...for one, I nearly destroyed one of the drivers by letting a screw get sucked into it (those magnets are strong. :p) and the headband is cracking...but it'd probably end up costing more than just getting a new pair at this rate.

hasn't cost me anything and they have not once asked for proof of purchase either

this time they're picking them up and rightly so I just hope that it is a proper fix and not just a new plastic that might do it again

I was always interested in the 595's and the 598's but the cracking headband always scared me off, "Self Terminating" headphones are never a good thing.

Can't blame you for avoiding, very disappointing when it happens tbh

seems not many people know about this redesign even tho its meant to be already in use with 598's.. wondering did it combat the problem
