Sennheiser HD 598 price

I was thinking of buying these headphones among other choices. Its price has been about $180 before and I would, without any hesitation, buy these for that price. I hoped that on memorial day, sennheiser may give a really good discount but hasn't happened so far. But going it for $ 250 seems expensive to me especially when there are many other good phones available for around this price. So I was wondering if $250 is worth it for these cans.....

Sennheiser has actually raised their prices in the past several months and forced it's resellers not to offere discounts...last I checked. Not a good practice IMO and one good reason that I'll spend my money elsewhere.
 
Regarding the hd598, there was a pair there this morning at your asking price. Like new I think.

 If you like smooth sound, easy on ear, with almost anything, including the most aggressive genres (that's the problem) , this seems what senn usually offer.

All of this is thanks to the US MAP polkicy laid down by Senn in the late winter or early spring of this year.  The HD 598 is a fine can, but is over priced at the current MAP price of (about) $250.  My suggestion is to look for a used or open box one that you can get at a much more reasonable price.
