Sennheiser HD 558 Quality?

Hey, I finally got to best buy to try on a pair of 558's, and they sound amazing. However, they feel very.... weak. The earpads are pretty bad, they're comfortable, but still not as comfortable as fake leather I have on $40 headphones. They feel plastic-ey and kind of cheap. I was wondering if they change small things like that in the 598's, or if they use the same materials. Thank you!

I would assume the HD598 is the same as the HD558, just difference color.
I like my HD558s just the way they are.

They're very cheaply made. But if you treat them well they will last. They sound amazing for the price and that's what matters to most people that are buying them. Besides, they're not practical for portable use since they're open and have a 10 foot cord, so they probably won't be exposed to much. I have them and recommend them. They were my first real pair of headphones and got me hooked.
