Those two are the headphones that I have finally got it down to.

However, should i just but the 497, or should I spend the extra 40+ dollars to get the 280 pros?

I really don't want to spend that much, but if the 280 Pro's are really worth the upgrade, please tell me (why).

And IF you have heard them both, what are the differences in the sound? By the way, I'm gonna use them mostly for gaming (POSITIONING) like CounterStrike, sometimes movies and music as well. However, comfort and gaming are the bigger issues.

I'd go with the 497s. I think they're more comfortable, and they have more bass. But YMMV.

Personally, I have the 497s. They were my first decent set of headphones and I still enjoy them. Currently, I use them mostly for gaming. If you do not need isolation, these will be fine for gaming. They also do a pretty decent job with music too. As for comfort, the 497s are fine for me. I might have to readjust them after about an hour or so, but overall comfort isn't bad. Some people claim they are too tight, so I would try them out first. However, on the same note people also claim that the 280s are tight fitting as well. I would try both of them for comfort first or at least buy them from someplace where you can return them. I heard the 280s once and I prefered the 497s. They were more transparent, had clearer bass, and an overall fuller sound.

I have 497, HD590 and Plantronics Audio90. And the reason I buy those cans is to play Counter-Strike everyday

Well, 497 is good for both game and music, but it is not so comfortable. Then I buy 590 as I want to hear music. 590 is one of the most comfortable phones and reveils too much details, so I found that it sounds not the way I used to..... I have to burn in my ears

Then I heard Audio90 is good for CS. Most importantly it has a good microphone as I am a member of a clan. It is not bad compare to the price I paid ($21).

So which one I am using? Sometimes Audio90, sometimes I use 590 and use A90 as mic.

590 is comfortable and expensive. If you are not too picky on comfortable, 497 is good. If you must have a mic, buy Audio90. If your new phone must be very comfortable, try to see if 570 is good for game. It looks like 590 so I think it should be very comfortable.

Keep in mind that 280 is closed can, rest are not.
