I just got a pair of these to replace my old phones...has anyone had any experience with these cans? What did you think of them?

I'm new to this whole headphone business but I researched a bit and I thought that Sennheiser was the way to go and the 490's were good for my price range...

all that counts is that you like them. if you do, then sit back and enjoy them. but if you want my opinion, they've got a very muddy and loose bass, and have a shrilly treble. they're pretty bad. the consensus seems to be, if you want to go sennheiser, these are the wrong phones to get. if i were you, i'd see if i could return them (i actually own the 490, it's a shame i couldn't return them. i just use them as test phones for now). for cheap open senns the 495 or the 497 are probably a better route.
