What's up guys! As you can see, this is my first threats & I just joined.
I just wanna know which of these 2 headphones(HD 449 & ATH-M50) is/are better to drive with a iPod.
1)I don't owned any AMP
2)I'm not a bass fan
3) Mostly listen to Pop, Electeonic, A little bit of rock, acoustic & dubsteps
4)Not using it for Movies ONLY FOR MUSIC
5) I currently using XBA 4 & Incase Pivot(mostly XBA 4)
6) Not gonna use it on any other devices accepts my iPod & iPad.

So, can you please kindly tell me which of these 2 headphone is/are a better suit for me...

Since your not a basshead the bass on the HD 449 will satisfy you and they are also geared for portable use and much better than the ath-m50(this old thing needs a redo)

By far, its has one of the best soundstage/imagery for a closed headphone at this price range and over

The ATH-m50 is the most overated headphone here, 70+% members of headfi memebers should have them, grandpa ATH-M50 is old and needs a redo, the HD 449 trumps it in balance(handling of multi genres) ,highs, mids and soundstage, comfort, looks.

Guess, I shall take your advice & go with the HD 449 since it's new(heard it was released on November 2011).

Have fun with your E17 then I never owned any AMP but I heard, is a good AMP & DAC.

Why ATH-M50?, Emospence? I think XxDobermanxX is right, those need a renew.

M50 by far. The HD449's bass lacks control and definition, it was actually one of my worst headphone experiences, I'm glad I sold them
