Sennheiser HD 280 pro review (vs DT 250-80)

Atomic---

$95-100 seems to be the best deal to be found online for the 280s. I thought someone posted a while back that they found them somewhere for $80, but I can't recall who or where.

Either proposed solution for portable amplification could help. The Boostaroo is cheap and widely available but is not that powerful or well made. JMT (a member here) could also help you with a custom built amp, which could be the best solution for you. You can contact him for details.

well i wouldnt go for a headphone amp just yet... i mean, these headphones were built for dj's, were they not? there must be another way to fix this issue... im really having a hard time believing that sennheiser would build a headphone for a dj and have them also buy a headphone amp... there has got to be another solution...

yeah, that's true. Maybe you should try contacting Senn to see if they can help...

I don't know.... Just try them with every single source you can get your hands on.... tehy should have PLENTY of bass and volume from even low power amps like those in portable cd players and mp3 players and such...

Maybe you should describe your connections to 3 different sources with more details so that we can try to locate the problem. It sounds really strange.

ok here goes... i have tech 12 turntable connected to my roland dj-1000 mixer via rca cables... also the ground IS connected to the mixer

... then the headphones are hooked up directly to the mixer.. thats it... same thing with the numark mixer...
and then i have a master out going to my home reciever and i hooked up the 'phones to it directly too to try it out...
