Hello all
someone is helping arrange this purchase for me and I am inifnitely grateful to that person.

While I have sleepless nights till I receive them, what should I expect from them.
Looking forward to reading your responses.
burn-in, any comfort issues/recommendations, if the cable is too long while going portable how do you reduce the ;ength etc.

Regards
Kunwar

This may come as a surprise to you, but one would have expected that you ask this question before placing an order, not afterwards...

I have a;ready heard them.
what I heard was a pair which had been burned in by about a 1000 hours of DJ mixing.
What I want to know is how they are affected as on elistens to them more and more.
As for spending money on something without reading, that is not me. I knew I liked them then, I don't know what to expect from a new pair.
My portable aphile experience is with canalphones and not full size headphones

Seriously no idea what to say other than at first they are disappointing considering how sound improves after time, wether burn-in is real or not atleast the brightness will sound gritty and harsh from the beginning compared to after "burn-in", bass isn't quite as detailed when new, but can't quite remember and be sure at that. They have a very long burn-in time.

Comfort: Headband squishes your ears and you can't wear them more than 1 hour at most. However, they loose up after a few weeks and they can get pretty comfortable, depends on the ear shape, head shape etc.

Cable: 1.5 m / 5 ft. is short, sometimes a little to short for home listening, but fine for portable uses IMO. If the cord is too long for you just put the excess cord in your pocket, bag etc.

The cord is just right for portable usage, i.e. not too long. Soundwise, among all the things I like about the HD25, I think it's the bass which this headphone really excels at. This headphone has come to define the way I perceive bass. Also, once you get used to these headphones, they are extremely involving and I often catch myself tapping my feet.

I'm starting to believe this because I listened to mine for about an hour when I first got them, and I let them burn in for 3 days before I gave them another serious listen, they had changed a lot for the better (the bass woke up and the highs were smoother)
On day 2, I put them on for a few minutes to see how they were doing, and one side was significantly louder than the other, but I left them alone and the next day they were even. *phew*

They have been attached to my head for 2 weeks and I could swear they sound better every day. This could all be in my head or maybe they are slowly improving, who cares, all I know is that I’ve been enjoying all my music like I hadn’t in a long time.

The chord length is perfect for portables, but they do get a little hot. I ordered the velour pads but I haven’t received them yet, hopefully I won’t lose too much isolation.
I'm also tapping my feet, still playing air guitar and so far 3 people have stopped me in the street to ask about them, including a sweet old lady at the bank.

I hope you get yours soon, in the mean time: try to get some sleep!

hey I am losing no sleep.
Too mcuh built up energy and that doesn't exactly let me sleep.
SO yeah, It is 6:00 in the morning and I am waching the Olympics and have to leave for work in a couple of hours
I guess they will go on the burn in tunes for the f3 days after which I will burn them in as I listen.
They are definitely looking good.
Now all I need is a confirmation from y souirce and I will fire away the monies so taht I can get my hands on them quickly.

Yep the excitement keeps building.
I hope no one stops me while I am listening to them, I kinda get pissed off taking of playing with the remote you know.

I hear you on Can Anticipation. Both sets of new cans should be arriving by the end of the week I hope - I can't wait!

When I first got my HD 25-1...I was disappointed. After some burn-in though (psychological or not) I started to really like them. Now I love them. They're rather engaging cans but after you've had them on your head for a while, the pads get a bit sweaty (which I'm sure you already know). They're definitely a nice choice for portable headphones!

that was one of the reasons I gave up on the canalphones.
however paranoid I am about cleaning my ears, Something might sneak inthe hot summers we have here.
As for sticky pads, I personally wouldn't mind getting my ears a rest every hour or so.
plus I reckon the maximum time I will be listening to these is probably 2-3 hours at a stretch unless I go for a trip somewhere on a bus.
After hearing what a lot of people have to say I am sure I won't be disappointed.
I love the alessandros and a similar sound signature would definitely be a hit for me.
