Hi everyone, I am looking for for some new headphones to upgrade from my sony earbuds(mdr ex30). I was originally looking at the Sennheiser HD 228's but then found the HD 218's for $30 and was wondering how much different will the sound be since their specs are similar? I dont consider myself to be an audiophile, but I like good sounding speakers and headphones. What would you guys suggest should I go ahead and get the HD 228's or do you think I will be happier with the HD 218's and the $35 I will save? Or is their something else similar that I might like? I was mainly looking for something that had decent sound, closed back design, and doesn't look like I am wearing shooting muffs to listen to my music with.

The HD 555's are amazing though

Almost forgot to mention that I didn't include those two because I strongly suspect they aren't very good

Thanks for the link, reading around there and hearing mixed reviews whereever I go got me to change my mind. I think I am going to pick up a pair of AKG K81DJ's. They seem to be well rated here and most other places. Is $60 off of Amazon a good deal for them? Or should I look somewhere else at something else?

Aren't these full sized cans? If so, you might find more help in the full-sized headphone forum.
