They look very similar to the Momentum 2.0. Might be an accidental release, but either way the Sennheiser HD 1 Wireless are live on the Sennheiser site.

$499, not yet available to order.

There is also an on-ear Wireless version of the HD 1:

As well as wired versions of both.

It would be odd if Sennheiser re-branded the Momentum 2.0 after a year without any improvements or new features when features like AAC codec support and Bluetooth 5.0 are expected for the Momentum line this year. Awaiting further information from Sennheiser.

What will Sennheiser bring to the table in what will be the the most innovative year for headphones in decades?

UPDATE: Just a re-brand of the Momentum 2.0 as Sennheiser does not own the rights to the Momentum name.

It the same as Momentum 2.0 Wireless, it just a name change.   They can not use the name Momentum.. That the reason!

Why would they re-package and re-brand the headphones over a name change though? Seems senseless to spend money restocking the Momentum 2.0 as the HD 1 just for a name change.

Some guy in the US own the right to the name Mometum, so in the US (and also Turkey) it will be named to HD-1.

I'm in the market for new wireless headphones and was seriously considering the Momentum 2 on-ears.  It took me a minute today to figure out why my links to Sennheiser's website kept directing me to this new "HD-1" headphone and not the Momentum.

Sorry to hear they are not an upgraded version of the M2.  I hoping for AAC codec support and improved bluetooth pairing with Apple products.

I was expecting Sennheiser to release an update at CES 2017, but it seems it's not going happen. Only these three products were released https://en-us.sennheiser.com/ces-2017. Now I'm thinking of getting M2 Wireless. Is the audio quality fine if I'm going to use it with the iPhone? Is the difference between bluetooth aptX that huge compared to wired? Maybe I still should wait for the next gen?

I've been trying to figure that out as well. The M2 Wireless is coming to receive AD2P from an iPhone, which may sound more compressed than aptX or native AAC.

I'm surprised to see Sennheiser's new Bluetooth offerings are only $149.99-$199.99.

Thanks for pointing out my typo.

The Bluetooth codec used between a M2 and iPhone is A2DP SBC, which may sound more compressed than native AAC or aptX.

Sounds like a good news bad news. The good news is that the rebranding has been figured out, but the bad news is no updates. That is a shame because with the iPhone 7, I wanted to venture out to some stylish Bluetooth headphones. I was hoping these might be my choice when I saw the pop up at CES 2017.

The HD 1 Momentum 2 ,Being Bluetooth and the RS Sennheiser wireless series is beamed through a transmitter, still can anyone compare for me the audio quality? In the past Bluetooth was known to be the lesser audio HD. And today with the HD 1?? Thanks.

FIY A2DP is the protocol not a codec that being used by all actual codecs that includes SBC Aptx, AAC. etc... SBC is a mandatory codec that all BT devices must support, in case of the optional codecs missing from either of the transmitting or receiving devices.
