A STEP UP IN HOME ENTERTAINMENT

For those seeking to enhance their experience of home entertainment and unlock the full potential of their home audio equipment, Sennheiser has launched the next generation of its popular HD 500 series headphone range. Powered by the audio specialist’s proprietary transducer technology for excellent sound performance, the new headphones feature enhanced ergonomics for exceptional wearing comfort and contemporary good looks.

The new over-ear headphone range includes three open-back designs, the HD 559, HD 579 and range-topping HD 599, as well as the closed-back HD 569. All four models let the listener enjoy their choice of home entertainment with exceptional wearing comfort assured, thanks to the large ear cups and soft, replaceable ear pads. Created with Sennheiser’s “Ergonomic acoustic refinement” (E.A.R.) technology, the headphones have been designed to more effectively channel the audio signal directly into the ears of the listener for a more satisfying listening experience.

“Our HD 500 series has been an immensely popular choice for those wishing to step into a new world of high-quality home entertainment audio. We are excited to refresh the range with great new designs and enhanced comfort that makes indulging in your favorite music or TV series all the more pleasurable,” said Robin Schweizer, Product Manager Select at Sennheiser. “As increasingly discerning consumers seek out richer formats such as Ultra HD video, Sennheiser is committed to creating audio solutions that make high-quality sound just as easy to enjoy everyday.”

Offering a step into the world of audiophile sound, the HD 599 is a premium headphone for those seeking sophisticated sound, design and build quality. The top-of-the-range model impresses with a natural spatial performance. The HD 579 delivers a similarly high-quality performance, providing a real step up for a smart home audio investment.

The HD 559 and HD 569 are the ideal choice for listeners seeking an optimal blend of all-round performance and quality. The HD 559 serves up a satisfying deep bass sound, while the closed-back HD 569 provides a rich and clear bass, but adds further flexibility by making it possible to enjoy a personal experience of great audio without disturbing others. The HD 569 also includes an optional 1.2m cable with an inline microphone and remote optimized for mobile devices.

DISTINCTIVE AND REFINED DESIGN

The new HD 500 range has been refreshed with Sennheiser’s elegant contemporary design language, which discretely communicates refinement, purpose and exceptional build quality. The HD 599 and HD 579 feature subtle premium design cues that reveal their superior performance at a glance. The HD 599 combines a timeless ivory color scheme with a headband finished with brown stitching which, with the matte metallic detailing on the ear cups and headband, create an immediate impression of substance and quality. The quality looks of the HD 579, which features matte metallic detailing and a grey color scheme, also work to display the new heights of sound performance it brings to the homes of listeners.

The new HD 559, HD 569, HD 579 and HD 599 will be available from September 2016.

EVERYDAY AUDIO HEROES

Audio specialist Sennheiser has launched two new ranges of portable headphones that are perfect for everyday listening on the go. The closed-back, around-ear HD 4 series includes the HD 4.20s, HD 4.30i, and HD 4.30G – headphones that deliver brilliant, bass-driven sound with contemporary style and robust build quality. Succeeding Sennheiser’s hugely popular PX 100, PX 200 and HD 200 series models, the lightweight, ultra slim on-ear headphones of the new HD 2 series offer optimum comfort and fine stereo sound. The range includes the HD 2.10, HD 2.20s and HD 2.30i and HD 2.30G.

“We are very excited to unveil two new ranges of portable headphones that not only incorporate a new design identity but also meaningful enhancements over existing models such as sound and cable quality,” said Ivan Kuan, Head of Portfolio Management Essentials at Sennheiser. “With a winning combination of performance, comfort and dependable build quality, the new HD 2 and HD 4 headphones are everyday audio heroes that can considerably enhance your mobile listening experience.”

THE NEW HD 4 SERIES: FOR AN ENJOYABLE LISTENING EXPERIENCE ANYWHERE

Powered by Sennheiser’s proprietary transducer technology, the new HD 4.20s, HD 4.30i, and HD 4.30G headsets feature precise, bass-driven acoustics that maintain clarity and sound balance. An ideal partner to mobile devices, the closed-back around-ear designs comfortably insulate the listener from external noise – perfect for enjoying music anywhere.

Robust build quality and reliability ensure that the headphones are more than tough enough for everyday use. Meanwhile, strong yet lightweight designs offer an optimal combination of comfort and portability, with soft ear pads and foldable headbands for easy storage. The HD 4.30i and HD 4.30G models, which come in both black and white colour variants, are additionally supplied with handy storage pouches.

All models in the range feature tangle-free, single-sided cables which include smart remotes and in-line microphones for easy phone calls, while the three-button remote of HD 4.30i and HD 4.30G additionally allow the user to control music volume and playback on iOS and Android smart devices, respectively.

THE NEW HD 2 RANGE: REIMAGINING TRUE CLASSICS

Sennheiser’s new generation of ultra-slim portable on-ear headphones includes the HD 2.10 and HD 2.20s as well as the HD 2.30i and HD 2.30G, which are available in both black and white variants. The range succeeds the popular PX 100, PX 200 and HD 200 series models.

“Designed to offer great convenience and portability, the HD 2 headphones fit effortlessly into your everyday life, allowing you to enjoy music on the move without hassle or bulky storage,” said Ivan Kuan. “They are designed to be so lightweight and comfortable, you can nearly forget you are wearing them.”

The HD 2 headphones impress with a clean, minimalist design as well as quality of sound. Despite their smaller size, all models offer powerful lifelike stereo sound with great bass.

The closed design and extra soft earpads help insulate the listener from background noise, for a listening experience free of distractions. Like the HD 4 series, these on-ear headphones have been designed for durability and practicality, with a robust, foldable design for convenient storage on the go. The HD 2.30i and HD 2.30G models are additionally supplied with a soft storage pouch.

The HD 2.20s features a one-button smart remote and microphone for answering calls, while the HD 2.30i and HD 2.30G are optimized for either iOS or Android smart devices, and include a tangle-free detachable cable with a three-button inline remote and microphone that allow the user to make calls and control music playback and volume.

Both headphone ranges will be available from September 2016.

Thank you for continuing to make Android-compatible, 3-button remotes. The other 98 percent of headphone companies still have yet to learn.

Waiting to see if the rumour is true that Apple will be removing the headphone socket from iPhone 7 and later. Would prefer the PCX480 over the PCX550 if possible.

...I finally got around to upgrading to the HD600 from the beloved HD598, and now they announce the HD599! I told my wife I was done!!!

Damn, they look sexy! I wonder if there is any change to the sound and not just a (stunning) make-over, and how much they will retail for?

Edit: Man, I thought the HD598 looked like the inside of a classic Buick, the HD599 look like the inside of a modern Buick!
