Sennheiser CX300

I can buy these for $10.25 shipping included. Should I go for it or are they not worth it? I'm a newbie and just bought some Marshmallows, but thought I could have an extra pair.

Thoughts?

These are probably fake. There are a lot of fake CX300's out there. Typically, its hard to find the real thing for under $40, but if real, they would certainly be better than the marshmallows.

Is there a way for me to make sure they are real before I buy.

I guess they are fake since they are sold on ebay and the seller is from China. Should have known better... although I didn't buy them.

That would be a good indication. I would bet you they are indeed fake

go for jbl reference 220s they got for ~30 bucks for legit ones and are a step up from the cx-300s

I bought a pair of these on EBAY for around $20 shipped, from a guy in Ohio, and they appear completely legit to me. They don't sound wonderful in comparison to my Etymotic ER-4s - but given the price differential, I don't expect them to. Even in comparison to Koss KSC-75s, they sound a little tubby in the bass, and not nearly as transparent. But given the reviews I've read of this unit, what I'm hearing is consistent with those reviews. And they look extremely well made. Beyond that, who knows?

I bought some over a week ago on ubid for $15 shipped. They are very good fakes cosmetically, including the counterfeit retail packaging, but they are certainly fakes.

With the prevalence of fake CX-300s all over the world market, it is probably safe to assume that any pair offered new for less than $40, no matter where there are offered -- ebay, ubid, even amazon -- are without a doubt fakes. You can take that to the bank.

no question about it. they just don't sell for that cheap. for $40 you can get a real pair new from amazon, shipping included. well worth it. the cx300s are quality earbuds, esp when compared to stock ones.

They are fake indeed. My friend has bought it I could just tell them from thrie appearance. But the seller was from UK and a power seller as well. If you look at the grills you can just tell them whether they are fake or not.
