Sennheiser Connectors

I asked about this in another thread, but didn't get detailed responses to ease my fears about the HD580's connector problems. Do the new 580's still have problems with the connector/cable? I am not able to mod/repair small parts, so I guess I'm relying on Head-Fi to keep me from wasting my money (is that a first?

Are you talking about the intermittency problem when the spring type connectors coming from the leads on the diaphram get bent out of shape?

If thats what you're referring to Sennheiser has not changed anything, but it's an easy fix, you just open them up and bent them back into shape, its a sticky on one of the boards.

Yep, that's the problem I was referring to. I am not able to repair small parts like that, so I guess I'll have to scratch them from the list. Thanks though

I experienced a problem with the connection at the phono plug end of the cord on a new hd580 a few months ago. The senn cords are crap from end to end.
