Hey I am new to Head-Fi and I need some help from you experienced listeners and audiophiles .I want to buy my first pair of good headphones . I like bass . I listen to old west coast classics like  still dre, you know how we do it etc , Led zeppelin , Eric Clapton , Johnny Cash ,marty robbins , Coldplay ,GNR, AC/DC, Bob Dylan etc :p I have mentioned all these names so that it becomes easier for you to have an idea. I can spend around  >= $250 . V-moda are the most expensive of the 2 being $250 . I like punchy bass and deep base . Not the one which blurs everything else . Open back or close back is not an issue . I would listen to them mostly inside the house . I don't create music . just play and listen to it. It would be of great help if you can get suggest me something . I had sennheiser px-80 , hd-408 and the usual iPhone headphones . I like sennheiser .Have never used any other pair of headphones . Please help me guys :)

The M-100 definitely has more bass then the M-80 which is more "neutral". Personally I didn't really like the M-100, though supposedly the XL pads make a difference. The LP/LP2 are ok; they're also fairly bassy. You can probably find used ones for dirt cheap (especially the LP1) if going that route.

Some Sennheiser Momentums might be to your liking. Possibly the Philips Fidelio X1/X2.
